The idea (︎︎︎) A Line Which Forms a Volume is a critical reader and symposium of graphic design-led research that is written, edited, designed and published annually by participants of the MA Graphic Media Design course at London College of Communication.

_EDITORIAL CONCEPT

A Line Which Forms A Volumen 6 [ ALWFAV ] editorial concept is inspired by the way mycorrhizal networks in nature connect different species and transfer resources

_NETWORKS

In this Volume, we understood the production of knowledge as a symbiotic network. The editorial continuous flow of content was facilitated by the idea of creating connections, not only between the contributors of this edition, but between topics within the past 5 volumes.

_CONTAMINATION

Enabled by processes of mutual contamination, information is transformed, making space for new ways of seeing complex contemporary situations. The blurry limits between new and old knowledge are represented by the intermission of fragments of text from previous editions that connect related topics extending the information through the physical barriers

_SYMPOSIUM

To celebrate the launch of the new volume, a symposium took place in London UK, where all the materialization of the network that particaped in the development of book was visible.

Inspired by the symbiotic exchange that took over the editorial concept, the event connected different species. the launch of sixth volume contaminated us by bringing together different contributors as Ana Quiroga, Gobyfish, Breakwater and Taey Lohe, to speak about how new knowledge arises from the development of graphic design-led research, but also the networks that consolidate around it.
